Ryan is the owner/broker of Spyglass Realty and started his career in Austin real estate as an investor in 2001, buying investment properties and using them for passive rental income. He received his real estate license in 2004. In 2008 he started Spyglass Realty with his wife, Angél Rodenbeck. His focus was on building a team of highly trained Austin real estate agents whose focus was on real estate consultation rather than just sales. Ryan saw a gap in the market when it comes to average real estate agents as opposed to top producing agents who take up to 20% of the sales in any given area. He set out to study the best real estate agents in Austin and around the nation, traveling to conferences and seeking out relationships with top producers. He hired coaches and consultants and documented the best practices of high performing agents across the country. He looked in different markets and found what top producers were doing to make their listings to sell for more money and in less time and began to adopt techniques for marketing homes that are above and beyond putting a listing on MLS and taking a photo with a camera phone. He is a student and teacher of digital and social media marketing and uses these techniques to ensure that each listing in his firm is marketed to the largest possible audience for his agent’s clients. Keeping up with the latest digital and social media trends is of utmost importance to Ryan. In addition, Ryan studied negotiation techniques to ensure that he and his agents were properly trained in the art of collaborative negotiations, which involves studying the goals for each party and diplomatically using those goals to ensure that the client's needs are being represented properly. His goal is to hire only agents with the most experience or the most potential and so all of the realtors at Spyglass Realty are vetted, and ongoing training is constantly occurring at this real estate brokerage. A native Texan, Angele has lived in Austin for more than 25 years. A love of live music, as well as a desire to continue her education, originally brought her to Austin. In the 90's she played a lead role in the city's music scene playing bass in various rock and roll bands. Angele saw first hand the transformation of Austin real estate in the 1990's, especially changes in the Warehouse and Downtown districts. In 1997, she created a gourmet tamale company. Taking advantage of a great idea and unique opportunity, Angele moved her business back to her hometown of Fort Worth. At 27 years old her first project was a complete commercial rehab of a vintage 1920's storefront. It was there that she learned the ins and outs of dealing with City ordinances and permitting process. After selling her business Angele moved to New York City and met her future husband there. Together they began investing in residential real estate as an income source. Angele still owns a stand alone home in Astoria, Queens, an area she holds near to her heart in part to her Greek heritage. After a career in Wall Street Financial Services, she and her growing family relocated to Austin. It was in the search for their next home that she realized her love of real estate. She quickly completed her Associate's Degree in Real Estate and became licensed in 2009. After cutting her teeth on leases she dove into the residential real estate market. In 2011 she received her Texas Real Estate Broker's license, a license held by less than 1% of Realtors because of the education, training and experience required. Angele's diverse experience and expertise bring a unique perspective to her professional relationships. She understands passion and opportunity across real estate transactions: from families looking for a new home to homeowners making a life change, as well as investment properties.
